What are you doing this summer to stay active? Fitness doesn’t have to be gruelling reps and sets in a sweaty gym. Simply choosing more active activities will help you stay fit, and have fun doing it.
Tomorrow, I am participating in a golf tournament. I don’t play golf often; about once a year. I usually come in last, but I do it for the fun of it. A great time with great people, and a good way to sweat away some calories. Wish me luck!

Hiking and mountain climbing are big passions of mine. I used to live in Kelowna, BC and I would hike Knox mountain at least twice a week. Since moving to Ontario, I hike when I can. Last month I went camping at Warsaw Caves and climbed 300 feet underground. Next Tuesday I am planning on going hiking with some friends on a trail I just learned about called 99 steps in Newmarket. It will be nice to get into it again.
Another good hiking/sightseeing spot is at the Cheltanham Badlands. It’s a part of the Bruce Trail which runs across Ontario. I suggest anyone who lives near Halton Hills or Caledon, ON to check it out.
The biggest disappointment for me this summer is the fact that I have to miss the Tough Mudder. I signed up way in advance, and more recently found out that the Canfitpro conference falls on the same weekend. Unfortunately I’m going to have to back out of the Tough Mudder.
For anyone who has ever wanted to run a marathon or event, sign up for one 4-5 months in advance and then you have no choice but to get into shape for it. It will motivate you like you wouldn’t believe.
Tennis, outdoor running, hiking, swimming and golf are great summer activities that will help you lose weight, feel great, and make the most out of your summer.
I look forward to following your blog!
